We met a pod of approx 20 dolphins

Last night we (Emma, David, Stuart, Fritzi and cox Jim) headed out for a row around Holy Isle in near perfect conditions. Stroke Emma set a steady fast pace and our net rowing time was about an hour. New ACRC record – David and Emma were looking forward to their dinner :-). What we found when we got round to the other side left the whole crew speechless. About 20 dolphins in groups of three or four were ‘herding’ fish in perfect synchronicity. They swam and dived near the boat with some leaping out of the water clearly playing and enjoying themselves. The whistling and blowing noise that they made and the crashing of water was a fantastic sound track to an amazing spectacle. We watched them for about half an hour before we left them.
