Fired up after a professionally coached warm-up session by Laura Aitcheson, 5 of our rowers decided to brave the elements and have a row over to Holy Isle, racing with the white horses. Even in Lamlash Bay conditions can be a bit challenging now and then.
A strong easterly forced them to launch from the small slip on the right side of the pier and even then getting out from the pier proved challenging. Nevertheless these hardy souls managed an exciting row over to Holy Isle and back. Coffee and a bowl of soup in the Old Pier Cafe afterwards were more than deserved!
The girls decided that the warm up was enough exercise for the day and gave rowing a miss. Therefore Fritzi got wetter than she liked to when helping to launch and Emma had the time to take some stunning action shots to document the row.
