On 27th February, just before the “Beast from the East” hit us full force and the wind got really strong, five ACRC rowers had a really wild and invigorating row over to Holy Isle and back – some would say a definite “brown trouser row”. We were mightily impressed with Caroline who on her 4th outing coped extremely well with these difficult conditions and big swell at position 3, Tracy bravely and excellently dealt with the wild sea at 2, John rock solid and frequently showered in bow, Stuart and Fritzi sharing stroke/coxing. It was very exciting surfing the big swell on the way home. This is what our skiffs are made for, they are extremely solid and seaworthy.
Adam and Ian watched us till we were safely back on shore again and Adam took some videos (thank you) which were compiled by John into a great YouTube video. Enjoy!
