From 5th – 12th July 2025 Arran Coastal Rowing Club (ACRC) competed in the Skiffie Worlds in Stranraer.
Parcipipants came far and wide, from four continents. Seventy eight clubs in total, with over two thousand rowers.
It was a 2km course – 1km out, sharp turn and another 1km back to the finish line, in different age classes. For a lot of our rowers this was the first Skiffie Worlds.
The weather was typical Scottish weather starting with strong winds which cancelled all the planned Monday races and ending in blisteringly hot weather, which became very challenging.
We came 46 out of 78 clubs which is an amazing result for a little club.
There was also a fun duck competition to dress your St Ayles Skiff as a duck…..which we WON!
All in all great week of rowing, lots of fun, laughter and great memories made.
