Arran Coastal Rowing Club’s third skiff rowing regatta is on 22nd – 23rd June 2019 in Lamlash, at the pier.
PARTICIPATING CLUBS
Confirmed attendees:
Troon, Royal West, Prestwick, Islay, FOCCR (Largs), North Berwick, South Queensferry (using Arran’s skiff Iolair), Renegade and Carrick. Rowers from Cumbrae and Stranraer will also be attending but will not be bringing their own skiffs – their rowers will reinforce other participating clubs.
Portobello has sadly had to pull out for this year.
THE COURSE
Weather permitting, the racing will be over a course of about 1500 metres. From the start line skiffs race northwards some 750m and after 2 port turns pass inside the moorings with a finishing line in front of the yacht club.
TIMETABLE
Racing takes place in accordance with SCRA Rules and Guidance Notes. All Boats have to have a VHF tuned to Channel M1 /37A.
BBQ is for rowers and their families/supporters only. Members of Arran Yacht Club and Kayak Club are welcome to join the party from 8pm onwards.
EVENTS ON SUNDAY 23rd June – The Hamilton Rock Challenge
For the second time there will be the Hamilton Rock Challenge which is a row from just off the pier round Hamilton Rock and back, a distance of about 6.2 km with mixed crews (at least 2 women). Start is at 10am ish.
Medals and the „Hamilton Rock Trophy“ will be awarded for this race.
