In the past the emergency services on the island used to have a meeting at a pub of choice for an evening of competitive gaming, Darts, Pool, Dominos etc. In recent years it has stopped and when the Coastal Rowing Club built its second skiff it was Dr Angus Campbell’s idea to bring it back as an inter service regatta. Sadly he never got the time to do that.
This year on the 18th October crews from Police, Fire, RNLI, Mountain Rescue, Coastguard, Hospital & Ambulance and the Medical Centre are taking part.
The format is similar to last year. Each team will race twice over a 500 metre course once in each skiff and their times will be combined. The two quickest crews will then race in a final for the trophy.
The Emergency Service Regatta is scheduled for Sunday the 18th October 2020. More info will be published closer to the date.
So please save the date, come along and support what should be a great day.
